Michigan is known for its beautiful lakes, hardwood forests, craft beer and welcoming communities. Amanda and Neal’s Manistique, Mich. wedding was the epitome of the state’s tagline, “Pure Michigan,” and everything that makes the state such an amazing place.
The two were married at the bride’s parents’ log home on a perfect summer day where they were surrounded by their family and friends. The ceremony took place deep in the woods with hand crafted benches for the guests, just a short walk away from the shores of Lake Michigan. Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, the couple opted for something a bit more unique: a unity beer! After the ceremony, wedding guests celebrated in a tented reception decorated beautifully with local greenery, growlers and pinecones.
One thing that really stood out about Amanda and Neal’s wedding day was the incredible community of friends that they built through their time in Greek life at Michigan Technological University. They had dozens of sorority sisters and fraternity brothers join them for their wedding day. The guys helped Neal serenade his new bride at the reception, and the ladies joined Amanda in a special song and dance of their own. They were SO much fun!
Amanda and Neal – thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to photograph this special day in your lives. I wish you all the best in this next chapter in your love story!
