I love not only photographing weddings, engagements and portrait sessions, but telling the wonderfully beautiful love stories of each and every one of my clients. Enjoy!
I’d like to paint a picture for you with this post:
It’s the beginning of February in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It’s six degrees outside with a wind chill below zero. You were hit with a major ice storm just a handful of days ago that left neighbors without power for hours, followed by nearly a foot of snow a couple of days afterwards. The first thing on your mind is taking glamorous photos outside to celebrate your sixth wedding anniversary, right? For my incredible (and BRAVE!) sister and brother-in-law, that just happened to be the case! Selfishly, I couldn’t have been happier with where their heads were at!
On this stunning afternoon, Ashley, Brett and I ventured into the frigid temps to celebrate their love in a breathtaking winter wonderland. The tree branches were still coated with ice from the week before and the fresh coat of snow gave us a clean slate everywhere. It was cold. Like really cold. But it was BEAUTIFUL!
Their wedding colors were navy, gray and white back in February of 2013. We re-created that look for their anniversary photos. Brett wore a gray suit, classic navy tie and crispy white shirt. Ashley was in a stunning full-length navy dress with a lace bodice, accented by a neutral blanket scarf that was most definitely necessary as she braved the single-digit temps.
I know I’m a bit biased because they’re family, but I just couldn’t have asked for a better couple to venture into the tundra with to take pictures. Congratulations on six years of marriage, love birds. I can’t wait to see what the next six hold for you!
