It’s not very often that when you’re in your mid-20s that you’re able to say you’ve had the same best friend since first grade. Luckily for me, that’s not the case. Though we are now separated by over 400 miles, I still get to call Brittany my BFF. How great is that?!
Last weekend, Brittany, her husband Eric and their two adorable kiddos were back in the U.P. for a wedding of another long-time friend. Britt had reached out to me before they came up and asked if I would be willing to take their family photos. Regardless of who I’m shooting, I always get SO nervous, but when it’s your best friend, there’s an added level of importance that makes me just that much more anxious to make sure the images turn out beautiful.
On Sunday afternoon, I found myself driving down the road I had driven so many times while growing up to Brittany’s parents’ home. They own a gorgeous piece of property outside of town with apple trees, a creek and a variety of evergreen and hardwood trees. As soon as I got inside, the skies opened and it started pouring rain. Though I considered waiting until it cleared up, we decided to brave the weather, and I’m so glad we did! We ended up with some gorgeous and incredibly special photos that her family can enjoy for years to come.
